Peel Health Campus provides a preadmission clinic for patients who are booked for elective surgery and who have underlying medical conditions which warrant pre-surgery assessment.
You will be contacted by the hospital either by a phone call or a letter if an appointment to the preadmission clinic is required.
At this appointment you will be reviewed by an anaesthetist who will also arrange any investigations required prior to your surgery. A nurse will provide pre-operative education and you will meet with other allied health staff as necessary.
Prior to admission we suggest you use the guidelines below as a handy checklist:
Please return your completed pre-admission paperwork as soon as possible and at least 72 hours prior to your planned hospital admission.
ENSURE YOUR HEIGHT and WEIGHT are included.
This information allows us to calculate your BMI (Body Mass Index) which will allow the hospital to safely care for you throughout your hospital stay.
If you are privately insured you should contact your health fund to confirm exactly what costs will be covered while you are in hospital.
